BLACK HISTORY MONTH
February is Black History Month. This observance is a chance to understand Black histories, going beyond stories of racism and slavery to spotlight Black achievement. It’s also an opportunity to provide a fresh reminder to take stock of where systemic racism persists and give visibility to the people and organizations creating change.
Schools across the district are participating throughout the district, with gatherings, curriculum, decorations and other more.
Vernon will be celebrating with an event on Thursday, 2/23/23. This is a collaborative event between Vernon educators, SUN School and our Families of Black Students affinity group. It is sure to be a great night! See below for details…

Lost & Found
Our Lost & Found has been purged, but is loading back up quickly! Please take a look at the rack, at drop-off or pickup, as I promise, there are items in there that belong to your family!

Vernon’s next day to run the district PTA Clothes Closet is 4/13. We need volunteers to work the closet from 9:30-1:30. This closet is a “free store” of sorts, where PPS families can shop the items. If you are open to volunteering, please click the link below and sign up! It’s really an amazing source and a fulfilling experience to volunteer!
When arriving at Marshall, ask to be buzzed in, and then go left once inside. Just down the hall on the left will be a posted that says PTA Clothes Closet. About halfway down that hallis a door, labeled, with stairs that lead upstairs. That's where you'll check in. It's easy to find!
